Three silvers and two bronze medals for shooters in PolandA squad of five top disabled British shooters have returned from the International Polish Cup Disabled Competition with three silver and two bronze medals. The event, which took place in Szczecin from March 13 to 16, saw Hampshire Paralympian Di Coates, joined by Kent youngster Nathan Milgate, Hereford’s James Bevis, Cambridgeshire’s Matthew Skelhon and Rotherham’s Chris Summerscales in the British contingent. Twenty year-old Herne Bay shooter Nathan Milgate shot 583 in the R1 60 shot SH1 air rifle standing to win silver behind Germany’s Josef Neumaier, while Peterborough’s Matthew Skelhon just missed out on a medal finishing fifth in a field of 22 with his score of 571. Meanwhile there was also a silver for Hereford’s James Bevis, who finished second in the SH2 falling targets rifle behind Germany’s Brengmann Michael who took the gold. Multi-Games Paralympian Di Coates, from Yateley, Hants, was also a medal winner picking up bronze in the R2 40 shots air rifle standing with a score of 389. She then just missed out on a medal in the SH1 falling target rifle finishing fourth, having reached the finals along with Brits Nathan Milgate and Mathew Skelhon as well as the German shooter Volt Simon. Volt was the eventual winner with Skelhon winning silver and Milgate taking his second medal of the tournament, finishing in bronze medal position.
