Bronzes for Bevis and Milgate in Germany <empty>Paralympic shooters James Bevis and Nathan Milgate both won bronze medals at the recent International Hessain Trophy in Germany.

This is the third competition for which Disability Target Shooting Great Britain (DTSGB) has entered a squad within the last month, returning from each event with a number of medals.

The Hessain Trophy has it’s own rules for finals and as result, finals were only held for three competitions – in the R3, R5 and P1/P2 combined.

Bevis took the bronze in the R5 10m air rifle prone SH2 mixed. He had qualified for the final in fifth place with a score of 599 but pulled it back in the finals with a score of 104.4 to take the bronze. Slovenia’s Tirsek Gorazd won gold and Brenmann Michael of Germany took silver.

Britain’s Georgina Callingham was also competing and finished 12th with 596.

Kent’s Nathan Milgate then took a second bronze for GB. He finished third in the  R6 50m Smallbore Rifle 60 shot prone SH1 mixed – in only his second international match at this discipine.

He shot 589 to finish just behind Farnci Pinter of Slovenia with gold and Josh Olson of the USA with silver. British debutant Stephen Robertson was also competing and finished in 5th with 584.

Milgate then followed this up with a 4th place in the R1- 10m air rifle Standing SH1 men’s event with a score of 582.

Bevis and Callingham were also in action again, competing in the R4 10m air rifle SH2 mixed. Bevis finished 12th, while Callingham finished 17th.

Also competing in Germany was Deanna Coates, who finished 4th in the R2 10m air rifle standing SH1, Mandy Pankhurst, who finished 7th in the same event, Jean Guild, who placed fifth in the P2 10m air pistol SH1 and Chris Summerscales who finished 12th in the P1 10m air pistol SH1.

The 15th International Hessain Trophy took place from May 13 to 16 in Bad Orb Germany and included participants from 22 countries. Click here for full results.
